Alms Houses Screens

Alms Houses Screens

Woven and forged steel screens. (2003)

Heavily forged flats with rough rounds woven up through them, the whole rivetted together, to create half height screens and a pedestrian gate. The intention was to enclose the rather small space without making the elderly inhabitants feel imprisoned.

Art studio gate. (2007)

On the same premises as the above, but giving onto the street and providing access to some artists studios,  a more formal treatment of the idea of knotting and weaving.
